Never Alone - Inseparable - Hikaru and Kaoru

 "Hikaru I don't want you to get sick too." whispered a very ill Kaoru on his hospital bed. "Kaoru the doctor just said you aren't contagious anymore. Now I can come by you whenever I want to! Isn't that great!" exclaimed a seven year old Hikaru. Kaoru practically jumped for joy but this caused him great pain in his chest and following that were rough and jagged coughs. "I know you're happy Kao but you have to rest now. The faster you get better the faster we can go outside and play!" said Hikaru in a gentle tone. Kaoru replied with tears starting to flow from his eyes "Hika I don't like being sick! I want to play with you now. It hurts Hika... it hurts. I wanna go home and not be stuck here." Hikaru was now on the verge of tears as well. He wanted Kaoru to be okay and to go home with him, but he couldn't do anything to help him.


Wait. He could do something.



Hikaru got up from his chair and climbed into Kaoru's bed. "It's ok Kao I'm here. Nothing will happen to you as long as I'm here. I promise." whispered Hikaru while hugging his twin brother in his arms.

"I love you Hika."

"I love you too Kao."









       One week later Kaoru was released from the hospital. He was still in rough shape but Mrs. Hitachiin didn't think the twins could last another day without being able to go outside. Kaoru was a bit dizzy so they decided to put him in a wheel chair for the next day or so. "Faster Hika faster!" yelled Kaoru as they made their way out the hospital doors. "I don't want to go to fast Kao otherwise you might get to dizzy." reminded Hikaru. "It's so fun though." said both brothers at the same time which caused them to giggle.









       When they arrived at home, Hikaru helped Kaoru onto to soft grass in their garden. Kaoru stumbled a bit but Hikaru was there to catch him. "Thank you Hika." smiled Kaoru. "Your welcome Kao." said Hikaru returning the smile. The twins lay on the beautiful bed of grass staring at the clouds in the sky hoping to find hidden pictures within them. "Look Kao it's a elephant!" exclaimed Hikaru earning an excited response from Kaoru. "Hika there's one that looks like a bird!" Both twins giggle and continue with their game for another thirty minutes until Kaoru started to fall asleep. Hikaru took his brothers hand in his and lay side by side with his other half, and started to fall into a slumber as well. "I love you Kao." whispered Hikaru just before he fell asleep. Having heard the small comment from his twin, Kaoru replied "I love you too Hika." giving a slight squeeze to his brothers hand. There they laid until they were woken by their mother and guided back to the Hitachiin mansion hand in hand.
